The Falcons traveled to Sacramento on Saturday for a friendly match against the Encina Prep Bulldogs.
The Falcons started off strong with two goals within the first 10 minutes. Freshman Ani Lopez scored in the first minute of play by chipping the goalkeeper after a great assist from senior winger Elon Wallace. The second goal came off a corner with junior Athena Junio passing the ball in the six yard box to freshman Kenmija Gonzales who tapped it in.
The Falcons generated multiple opportunities but could not find the back of the net. The Bulldogs went ahead on the scoreboard in the second half. The Falcons were able to rally back with an indirect kick that was rocketed into the net once again by Ani Lopez. Ani leads the team with four goals in two games.
The Falcons had the chance to win it as Ani Lopez drilled the crossbar in the last minute of play. Fairfield looks to continue improving as a unit. The next matchup for Fairfield is Tuesday at home when they host Vacaville Christian.
